Today's Tip: What Matters More Than
Marketing?
Dear Friend:
I have a confession to make.
I have always advocated for the best
strategies and
tactics for small business marketing. I have gone to
great lengths to ensure that my clients and
subscribers and friends avoid the worst marketing
errors, and, that they know the best guiding
principles.
I have had the great pleasure of
helping businesses to
multiply their response and revenues through great
strategies well implemented.
But guess what?
None of that matters! It's not so
important whether
you use direct marketing or "image marketing" (image
marketing is the "get-your-name-out-there/branding/
heating-the-outside-in-the-winter marketing I love
to make fun of).
Yes you read correctly. It doesn't
matter at all -
if your underlying thoughts are not supportive. As
crazy as it sounds, if your thoughts are not aligned
with your goals, and, more importantly, if your
EMOTIONS are not churning with positivity in relation
to your chosen outcomes, then you have got bigger
problems than which marketing strategy to work with.
But how could that be? How could
what goes on in my
mind be such an important factor? Let me just say,
in the small amount of space I have to communicate
this, that your life and everything you see and
experience is the result of long held thoughts
and the resultant feelings.
What you think determines what you
will see. And,
what you think determines how you feel. What you
focus on IS your experience!
The most significant fact I have
ever found is that
we have a choice about what we think about, and what
we think about determines everything that happens in
our life.
So, aligning your thinking is a lot
more important
that which headline you run in an ad. It almost seems
illogical to say so, but it is metaphysical fact.
And don't make the mistake of confusing
"thought
power" with Positive Thinking. Repeatedly telling
yourself something you don't believe is not a good
strategy. Aligning your desires with positive
expectation IS a great strategy. Do you see the
difference?
Give our scientists a few more centuries
and they will
eventually create instruments that can measure and
confirm that thoughts become things. If you don't
