Today's Tip: Getting Your Name Out There!

Have you ever run an ad, thinking to yourself, "This
will really get our name out there!"

Let me ask you a question. Does that make sense?
Especially for a smaller business. If McDonald's wants
to spend $2,000,000 for thirty seconds during the
Superbowl, that's their problem. If a tire or film
company wants to invest huge amounts of money to fly a
blimp over a stadium (not any more!) then that's their
problem! Why should you fork your hard earned money to
an agency that only wants to get your name out there?

Getting your name out there is like trying to heat the
outside in winter by leaving your front door open. All
that happens is that you dissipate energy. Instead of
trying to get your name out there, TRY TO GET THEIR
NAMES IN HERE! Make every ad a name capture device.
Then at least you're in the game.

What could be worse than believing that there are
dozens of prospects "out there" who are almost sold,
but you can't do anything about it because you don't
know who they are! At least if you had their names, you
could keep moving the sale forward with a series of
well-conceived follow-up steps.

Forget about getting your name out there. Focus
instead on direct-response name capture and follow
up systems. They are measurable and profitable.
