Today's Tip: Creating and Sustaining Momentum in Your
Marketing

What's the matter with the human race, anyway?

Repeated studies show that as few as 1% and a maximum
of 5% of seminar attendees and home study program
buyers do anything at all with the information they
have paid for.

Isn't that strange? Why would an otherwise
intelligent person spend their money gaining new
information and making plans that they were not
going to put into place?

The answer to this riddle lies in one of the laws of
physics. Newton's 'Law of Inertia' states that "in the
absence of any outside force, a body at rest stays in
a state of rest and a body in motion continues to move
in a straight line at constant velocity".

What does this have to do with marketing? Everything,
that's what! Inertia is what keeps you from getting
started. Momentum will tend to continue, once you
start to roll.

So what's the secret to establishing and maintaining
momentum?

Read the law again. The secret is "an outside force".
In the case of your marketing, the outside force will
be the support of a third party. It could be a coach
or a team member. Someone who makes you accountable
and keeps you focused on what's most important.

Someone that keeps you moving.

The average human needs repeated exposures to an idea
before they feel internally impelled to act. And once
they have arisen from their slumber, they greatly
benefit from continued guidance so that their momentum
will be FORWARD MOMENTUM in the direction of their
goals.

I suggest that you seek a coach or mentor to help you
establish and maintain momentum. A coach is:
* Someone with the knowledge and skill to help you
create an effective and continually-motivating
action plan
* Someone who knows how to help you get organized
* Someone who will bring objective insight into
something you are too close to really see
* Someone you come to admire and don't want to
disappoint -- so you make sure you do what you
told them you would do
* Someone who helps you create an action plan and
helps you stick to it

In the simplest, most bottom-line terms possible, if
you had a good action plan and STUCK WITH IT -- and
were able to remain clear and make necessary
adjustments from time to time -- you'd be virtually
unstoppable.

So get some momentum in your life. Go out and get
yourself a coach or mentor. If there are things you
"should be doing but are not", an objective third
party might be exactly the answer you are looking for.
Always keep in mind: If you could do it by yourself,
you would have done it by now!
