Today's Tip: The Law of Attraction
In business, as in everything else, thought is all
important. How you think defines what results you get
in every field of endeavor. For example, without focus
and positive self-talk, playing tennis or golf is
impossible.
But, what's the difference between mental focus and
metaphysical law? Focusing occurs in the brain. The
brain is a physical entity. Yes, it is a supercomputer
with 100 billion neurons, but brainwaves can be measured.
Beyond the measurable, we enter into the metaphysical
realm. According to several ancient traditions and
modern teachings, there are immutable metaphysical
laws that govern the physical universe.
In his classic success book 'Think And Grow Rich',
Napoleon Hill discusses metaphysical laws such as the
Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction states that
like attracts like. Another way to say it is, "birds
of a feather flock together".
What does this have to do with marketing? Absolutely
everything! Without the Law of Attraction, marketing
is a frog kissing expedition. With the Law of
Attraction on your side, marketing is transformed into
channel energization.
In previous issues of Marketing From the Heart, I
have urged you to stop chasing customers and get them
to chase you. The Law of Attraction allows you to be
a magnet that attracts the right customers by the
simple expedient of thinking very clearly about what
you want on a regular basis.
It is very important to emphasize that if you think
about what you don't want, the Law of Attraction has
no bias. It will deliver what you don't want just as
easily as what you do want.
The great lesson of metaphysical studies is that our
current situation - and this includes our
relationships and our cash flow - is a reflection of
our dominant thoughts.
Applying the law of attraction to growing your
business requires you to focus unswervingly on how
you want your business to be. It does not mean
ignoring challenges or hiding your head in the sand.
It means taking responsibility for what you are
manifesting and keeping focused on what you really
want. The only thing to do when you find yourself
focusing negatively is to think about what you
want.
So what's the marketing action that goes with this
insight?
Spend a few minutes every day focusing your thoughts
on how you want your business to be. You'll be
surprised to find that the traceless, immeasurable
process will make as much or more of a difference
than any marketing move you may be contemplating.
You probably already know this. Have you ever focused
long and hard on a goal only to have it miraculously
come to you? That's the law of attraction, marketer's
best friend.
